New Social Work is a powerful tool for creating positive change in the world. In the past, social workers leaned too heavily into aligning with systems of oppression.
Our mission is to empower individuals, families, and communities to build a better future for themselves and each other. The counseling, education, and advocacy services offered here support that purpose.

Wil Oliver, also known as Wil Transcending, offers one-on-one support, embodied teachings, public speaking, and community-rooted practice at the intersection of Black, Brown, and Indigenous (BBI) aliveness, memory, recovery, and creative truth-telling.
A lifelong Artist for Social Change, Wil is an author, design artist, recovery practitioner, meditation teacher, cultural curator, and technologist. He draws from lived experience across housing injustice, mental health challenges, substance use, systems navigation, spiritual betrayal, and medical harm.
Wil's relational style blends mindfulness mentoring, narrative therapy, and Africultural healing frameworks that uplift the body, the land, intangible insight, and the breath as sources of knowing. He is the creator of MORE of What U Like, a Substack sanctuary offering Mindful Soul Writings and audio recordings of Mindful Soul Meditations.
His mindfulness, healing, and liberation teaching influences include Ruth King, Devin Berry, Alex Maizuss, David Cabrera, Sharon Shelton, Dr. Renda Dionne Madrigal, Eduardo Duran, and Dr. Shelly Harrell, whose Sankofa Theory and Practice framework Wil interacts with through his own lens of ancestral and lived experiences. He supports community members through sliding scale 1-to-1 sessions, group workshops, and ritual practice grounded in Sankofa theory.
Wil has recently published his first book, Your AI Life Patch v1.0, which is available below. He is currently editing a second manuscript on Liberatory Recovery. Both reflect his unique cadence: Caring, learned, unapologetic, solemn, and woven with cultural discernment.
