Indian Proverb
One-to-One Mindful Soul Practice sessions are mindfulness-based wellness coaching, recovery and spiritual support utilizing practices grounded in ancestral healing, Sankofa theory, breathwork, and neurodiverse affirmation.
Wil guides people of the Diaspora to walk in their protective, nurturing, and renewing dark radiance. His signature Sankofa-based approach returns the synergy of breath and body to its rightful place as teacher, portal, and pathway to embodied presence.
This is wellness coaching and peer support, distinct from clinical psychotherapy or formal social work. It is a process of reclamation and return to rhythms you already know beneath the noise.
Mindful Soul Practice sessions are crafted for people navigating recovery, grief, neurodivergence, racialized harm, and spiritual reawakening. This space centers the needs of the African Diaspora and welcomes anyone drawn to truth-telling, presence, and embodied clarity.
Sessions are offered via Zoom with accessibility options including closed captions, flexible pacing, and space to name sensory or processing needs in advance.

Wil Oliver, known as Wil Transcending, is an Artist for Social Change, recovery practitioner, meditation teacher, cultural curator, technologist, and author rooted in Black, Brown, and Indigenous aliveness and healing.
His work lives at the intersection of memory, recovery, and creative truth-telling. He draws from 30 years of lived experience navigating housing injustice, mental health challenges, substance use, spiritual betrayal, and medical harm. Strengthened by those experiences, Wil Oliver (Transcending) built Mindful Soul Practice, an independent Africultural healing methodology.
His relational style is caring, learned, unapologetic, solemn, and woven with cultural discernment. He works with individuals and communities through 1-to-1 sessions, group workshops, public speaking, and his Substack sanctuary, MORE of What U Like.
He is the author of the new book, Your AI Life Patch v1.0, and the forthcoming title, Sankofa Liberatory Recovery, plus two courses: Get Unstuck! and Mindful Soul Reparenting Practice.

Wil Oliver (Transcending) has had the title, Doctor of Divinity, conferred upon him from the Universal Life Church, an institution that has boldly and equitably ordained ministers across every spiritual tradition since 1962 and whose standing has been recognized in federal law. Wil's first ULC ordination has been active since 2006. He rededicated himself to the vocation in 2017, both of which provided the legally notarized religious authority that allowed him to complete his Masters at Columbia University when the institution's COVID mandate threatened his access in 2022. He holds his doctorate from the institution that earned it, not from the ones that required him to translate himself to enter.
Dr. Oliver's fuller credentials are these: 30 years of recovery, 30 years of community engaged social research and teaching as an artist for social change, a Masters in Social Work from Columbia University, Advanced Certified Peer Support Specialist, Banyan certified Mindfulness Mentor, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Foundations teacher training from Brown University, and years of deep dharma practice and study.
Now, he is the originator of Mindful Soul Practice, an independent Africultural healing methodology that includes the Seven Sankofa Paths of Practice, the Eight Aspects of Mindful Soul Healing, Coessential Advaya, the Dark Radiance Joy Index (DRJI-8) assessment tool, and the Africultural Knowledge Watershed with Gracious Confluence.
A very wise woman once said, "God does not call those who are qualified. God qualifies those who are called." Dr. Oliver did not wait for an institution to legitimate his knowing. He built the framework. The ministerial doctorate credential followed the work. 🫧
